At the start of the project, we define which business processes are essential for the company’s operational activities. This analysis forms the basis for further implementation and enables a well-founded decision to be made on the extent to which standard processes need to be used or adapted.
The fit-to-standard workshop examines the extent to which the standard processes provided by SAP S/4HANA meet the company’s specific requirements. Necessary configurations are defined and compared with the available SAP best practices. If deviations are necessary, the required adjustments are documented in detail in the backlog list.
If certain business requirements are not covered by the SAP standard processes, these topics are added to the backlog list. The number of open items depends directly on how closely the business processes are already aligned with the SAP standards – the closer they remain to the standard, the shorter the list will be.
All entries on the backlog list are then subjected to a detailed analysis by the project team. The aim is to find the best possible solution to efficiently close existing gaps while keeping the degree of standardization as high as possible.
